Clubs and Student Organizations

The Agricultural Education and Communication Department promotes the development of students as leaders in agriculture. Faculty in the department serve as advisors to four student clubs and organizations. Student involvement in clubs and organizations provides opportunities for students to practice their leadership skills. ACT - Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow

Congratulations ACT - 2011-2012 CAFES Small Club of the Year!!  The mission of ACT is to help students develop skills in agricultural communication through professional and academic opportunities. ACT members traveled to New Orleans in July of 2011 for the Agricultural Media Summit. The Agricultural Media Summit is the largest gathering of crop and livestock media professionals and the annual meeting for the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow. Students have the opportunity to enter work in the contest, network with professionals and attend communication workshops. 

ATA - Alpha Tau Alpha

 

A.T.A. members visited Sacramento in May of 2011. Mr. Louis Brown (centered with white shirt and red tie) hosted the group's first stop at the K.S.C. LLP's conference room. The trip also included visits to the State Capital, State Department of Education (hosted by Bob Heuvel), lunch with Mr. Heuvel, and then a visit to the State  FFA Center in Galt, CA.

CFFA - Collegiate Future Farmers of America

Congratulations CFFA for being awarded CAFES Large Club of the Year - Back to Back!! Congratulations Mr. Jerry Clark for being awarded CAFES club advisor of the year, 2011-2012.  The Leadership team is bookended by Advisor Jerry Clark (Far left) and C.A.F.E.S. Dean Dave Wehner (Far right).
